This work is part of a long running exploration of drapery as a metaphor for human experiences. The recent works have shown the drapery as an intervention in nature. The basic components of the fabric come from nature but have been processed to a point where the product, the drapery, overlays or intrudes on nature, separate from nature, signifying human intervention even in the wildest and remote places. The series also references religion as a tool we use to place ourselves above and separate to nature, instead of revering, honouring and maintaining the environment that sustains us.Manifestly, human intervention in nature has been almost routinely destructive and seems to be leading to our own downfall.
