This work is part of a long running exploration of drapery as a metaphor for human experiences.  The recent works have shown the drapery as an intervention in nature and reference religious tropes as underlying historical attitudes that place humanity above and separate to nature, instead of revering, honouring and maintaining the environment that sustains us. The drapery stands in for the removed body, referring to the longstanding artistic tradition of the draped figure and, in this case, Hamlet’s Ophelia, driven mad by trying to negotiate the warring expectations of her society.
